Jared Vanausdoll, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for ALAH CUSD #305, has announced his resignation to replace Carol Munson as the new Principal at East Prairie Middle School in Tuscola. Munson has taken the Superintendent’s position at Villa Grove. Vanausdoll’s position was approved by the Tuscola School Board at their meeting on Thursday, June 4.

Vanausdoll stated, “I have called Arthur home since I began kindergarten at Arthur Grade School in 1984. Taking a position outside of the CUSD 305 school district wasn’t an easy decision. I have had a personal goal to lead a building for a while and recently applied at a few places. I am excited about the opportunity to lead a Middle School Building and to foster new relationships with faculty, students and parents.”

He continues, “I am still coming to terms with leaving the current students, staff and leaders at ALAH, and will genuinely miss the relationships developed during my time here.”

Vanausdoll says he started in the district as a substitute teacher, Jr. High track coach and football coach in 2002. In 2003, he was hired as a Jr. High History teacher and Driver’s Education Instructor. He has coached Jr. High boys’ basketball and baseball as well. In 2005 he began teaching Physical Education and Health as well as Driver’s Education. Vanausdoll began as the boys Athletic Director in 2012 and Assistant Principal in 2015.

While Vanausdoll will be missed at ALAH, the community wishes him the best in his new position. It is always good when someone advances in their teaching career.
