The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 10

WHAT:         Fatal Traffic Crash

WHERE:      U.S. Route 36 @ 300 E Road (Douglas County)

WHEN:         Monday, June 8, 2020, 10:47 a.m.

VEHICLE:   Unit 1:  2006 Pontiac

                        Unit 2:  2006 International Truck-Tractor Semi-Trailer

DRIVER:     Unit 1:  female (deceased)

Unit 2:  62-year-old male of Atwood, IL

PRELIMINARY:      Preliminary investigation indicates Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 36 in Douglas County near 300 East Road.  Unit 1 crossed the center line, entered the west bound lanes of U.S. Route 36, and struck head on with Unit 2.  The driver of Unit 1 was pronounced deceased on scene.  The Douglas County Coroner will release the name of the deceased once the next of kin notification has been completed.

CHARGES:    Pending Investigation
