Maggie Dean Porter Ash

Maggie Dean Porter Ash, 89, of Buckeye AZ, passed away April 18, 2020 in Goodyear, AZ.

Maggie was born July 15, 1930 to Fred and Edna Zoe Keyt Porter in Portland Mills, IN. She married James Russell Ash on October 9, 1948.

She is survived by her children Diana Inman, Decatur, Tom (Linda) Ash, Cerro Gordo, and Robert, Buckeye, AZ. She is also survived by her granchildren,Frank Inman, Dana Inman, Nicole Gibbons, Megan Tanner, Elizabeth Wilhelm, and Kristy Vaughan, several great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces, and a sister-in-law, Ruby Porter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, daughter Carol, and grandson, Jay Ash, her brothers John, Jenneth, Bernard, Rex, Claud, infant brother, and her sister Reva.

Maggie was a Beelibe manager in Effingham for many years. In 1976, she and Jim decided to sell their home in Effingham, and travel the countryside to various job sites. Before she left, she earned her LPN, graduating with honors from Lake Land Community College.

Jim and Maggie finally settled in Buckeye, AZ – out in the middle of nowhere and they loved it there. Maggie was a skilled needlepointer and loved to crochet. She was a past president for the Womens Auxilary for the VFW.

Maggie and Jim were the best in-laws a person could ask for. They were both generous in so many ways. May you both fly high – until we meet again
