Agnes Swisher

Agnes Swisher, 86, of Mattoon, formerly of Arcola, died at 8:57 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Arcola Cemetery. Pastor Matt Stump will officiate. Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Agnes was born April 10, 1933 near Arcola, the daughter of Ed and Lela Jane (Reece) Landreth.

Survivors include her son, Gary Swisher and wife Chris of Arcola; daughter, Vickie Swisher and life-long companion Bruce Trimble of Toledo; two grandchildren, Joe Swisher and wife Jessica of Charleston; Angie French and husband Mike of Mattoon; four great grandchildren, Hailey, Camren, Laney, and Carson French of Mattoon; two sisters, Evanell Moore of Cooks Mills and Jo Anne Shoot of Mattoon; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers (Ed, Wayne, Willard, Clifford, Floyd, and Edwin); and three sisters (Irene, Norma, and Audrey).

This spunky lady was an avid reader, enjoyed word puzzles, and had a wonderful talent for cooking, sewing, and making guests feel welcome in her home. Her grandbabies were her pride and joy.

The family would like to thank the special staff at Odd Fellows for the compassion and care of our mother.

Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, American Cancer Society, or American Heart Association.
