Douglas County Health Dept. Announces One Newly Confirmed Coronavirus Cases for Douglas County, IL
The Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) announces one newly confirmed case from a female in her 60’s. She tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Douglas County, IL.
Public health officials are identifying and attempting to contact all close contacts for this individual. Douglas County has nine confirmed cases at this time.Everyone should consider themselves at risk for exposure to coronavirus and should stay home whenever possible. While at home everyone should self-monitor and check yourself for fever and remain alert for cough, shortness of breath or sore throat.
Testing is not indicated for persons who are mildly ill or are not showing signs of illness to help conserve personal protective equipment and reduce possible exposures to healthcare workers.
Douglas County has several individuals throughout the county whose symptoms warranted isolation and self-monitoring at home and did not meet IDPH criteria for testing.
These individuals are receiving calls 2x daily to confirm their symptoms remain mild. Should their symptoms worsen, additional action is taken, including testing.
