Deer Scoring

Deer Scoring was a new event added to this years Outdoor + Health & Wellness Expo. Dale Good of Georgetown is pictured here scoring two of the 30 deer that were entered into the contest held this weekend at the Otto Center. Scoring is based on the symmetry between the left and the right sides. With a typical whitetail, if there are differences between one side of the buck’s rack and the other, that is subtracted from the final gross score. Winners included Phil Ruhl of Teutopolis (8-Point Typical), Jeremy Jess from Arthur (10-Point Typical), Levon Hostetler of Arthur (Overall Typical Buck), and Greg Morris from Lovington (Overall Non-Typical Buck).
